About Us

Our Vision

We envision a community where books are accessible, conversations are sparked, and local connections thrive. Brown Hound Books exists to bring the independent bookstore experience beyond four walls—meeting readers where they are and creating spaces that feel welcoming, curious, and human.

Through thoughtfully curated books, pop-up events, and community-building programs, our vision is to make reading more visible, more social, and more local. We believe stories have the power to connect neighbors, support independent voices, and strengthen the communities we serve.

This is more than a bookstore on wheels—it’s a growing community built around stories worth sharing.

Our Founder

Hi, I’m Bridget!

Brown Hound Books grew out of a lifelong love of reading—and a belief that stories bring people together.

My husband and I are raising two sons in a house that’s always been full of books. I’m a longtime book club member and have spent years trying—sometimes successfully!—to cultivate a love of reading at home by making books part of everyday life.

I’m originally from Michigan and still spend summers there, but Tampa has been home for over 20 years. Brown Hound Books is inspired by both: the slower pace and close-knit feel of Northern Michigan, and the warmth, energy, and creativity of Tampa living.

After years of building customer-focused experiences in corporate America, I felt called to create something more local, personal, and community-centered. Brown Hound Books is my way of bringing the independent bookstore experience beyond four walls—meeting people where they are and creating spaces that feel welcoming, curious, and fun.

I can’t wait to grow this community with fellow readers, neighbors, and book lovers—one pop-up (and great book recommendation) at a time.
